Christmas Project 2024

Our customers have been doing without gifts for several years now and we support various projects instead.

As in previous years, we want to help people in need with our Christmas campaign - in other countries or "right on our doorstep".

This year, as part of our Christmas campaign, we are providing very special cuddly toys as Christmas presents for  traumatized children in the war zones of Ukraine (see below).

This year, a total of €20,000 will go equally to 4 organizations with which we have been very connected for many years:

  •      Tafelladen Ennepetal – for groceries
  •      Andheri Hilfe e.V. – for blind operations in Bangladesh
  •      Opportunity International – for craft training in Ghana
  •      Hoffnungsträger Ost - stuffed tigers for children in the Ukraine

Food distribution in Ennepetal

In the small food distribution shop on Lindenstrasse in Ennepetal-Voerde - a distribution point for the Wuppertaler Tafel - volunteers provide people in need from Ennepetal and the surrounding area with food two days a week.

Eye operations on blind people in Bangladesh

Our partner organization ANDHERI HILFE has been promoting eye health in Bangladesh for over 40 years. So far, over 1.4 million eye operations on blind or visually impaired people have been carried out with the help of donations.
With our Christmas campaign we want to contribute again this year to the fact that people there no longer have to be cared for by their families as blind people, but can stand on their own two feet again and even contribute to the maintenance of their families.

Craft training in Ghana

In the Youth Apprenticeship Program (YAP) of our partner organization OID, unemployed young people in Ghana receive three-year vocational training. The graduates of the program come from poor families: young people who had to drop out of school early due to lack of money or who were unable to do any training after graduating from school. Without vocational training, young people have no chance and no hope for a good future. Disadvantaged girls and young women are particularly affected.

Stuffed tigers for traumatized children

This year we have now added another project through our partner organisation "Hoffnungsträger Ost", in which special stuffed tigers are given away to traumatized children in the war zones of Ukraine. These toys, developed by specialists, are not only cute, but they speak to children in their native language in a way that can make it easier for them to deal with what they have experienced.
The cute tigers are so helpful and the response on site so positive that new deliveries have already been requested several times.
